Sonnet was one of triplets out of our beloved Fancy, and has always been an eye-catcher.  She lost her pregnancy during the early spring and was unfortunately a "dry 2-year old" in 2023.  She did come into milk and had a well attached udder but just didn't have the capacity to compete.  She freshened in 2024 with a huge single buck kid and a nicely-attached mammary that was damaged by mastitis. As you can tell from her appraisal score, there is a lot to like about this huge doe.

We bred her several times to kid in 2025, and unfortunately she lost her early pregnancy.  We were thrilled when her blood test came back that she was pregnant, though we didn't have a clear due date.  In mid May she started filling her udder and we thought "Yay!  Here we go!"  But.....no kids.  So we started milking her (much to her dismay, she was NOT happy) and tried to figure out what to do.  We even made a trip to the vet for Ultrasound, and we were told that there was no sign of pregnancy. 

Imagine our surprise when 10 days later, we went out to milk and found twin buck kids, all cleaned off by mama Sonnet!  A week later, she attended her first show where she was awarded 3xGCH and 1xBIS, finishing her permanent championship. 

Sonnet was 18th at the 2025 ADGA National Show.  We are eager to see her milk more next year!
