Her Story

Whimsy was a favorite kid in 2016. Her flashy and correct conformation​, coupled with her bigger-than-life-personality, made her a stand out in the kid pen. Her dam, Whisper, was one of the best does that we have ever bred. Unfortunately, Whisper left us before we were able to get more than one doe out of her. As such, Whimsy is quite precious to our herd.

Bringing many qualities that are missing in some of our other does, Whimsy is the tallest and longest doe in the herd. She stands on an excellent set of feet of legs and is correct from every angle. She is dairy, yet has the strength of bone and scale that we had hoped would come from a breeding to Gold Rush. Her mammary system is high and well attached with a smooth fore udder and strong medial. Unfortunately, she freshened as a yearling with a hard mass in her udder that causes one side to be disfigured. We do not believe these issues to be genetically inherited; however, they have continued to prevent her from reaching her full potential both in production and appraisal.

We still believe that she is outstanding enough and offers enough improvements in areas of the scorecard that may be lacking in some of the other animals that she will continue to be a very valuable brood doe for us. Whimsy was bred to Windrush Neo Intrigue this year and gave us three doe kids.
